description West of Danville, this park was the first in the country to be built on surface mined land. It offers scuba diving and also an anglers paridise with its 22 deep water lakes. The park offers many types of camping , miles of hiking trails and more that 10 miles of mountain bike trails. Illinois only National Scenic river, Middle Fork of the Vermilion, runs thru the park offering excellent canoeing and fishing opportunities.
drivingDirection West bound on I74 exit 210 east to Danville. Proceed one mile to stop light. Turn left at stop light and travel two mile north. Turn left at Kickapoo Park sign (large church on left side of road just before turn) and travel two mile into park. Drive to second stop sign, turn right 150 yards to campground entrance.East bound I74 exit 206 and then turn left back over interstate. Proceec two mile, turn right at Kickapoo Park sign. Travel east approximatly three mile, cross Middle Fork River bridge, go straight up hill between lakes and campground is a the crest of the hill on the right.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. No alcohol allowed in campground. Pets on leash at all times. One camping unit and one tent or two tents per site. One family group per site (parents,minor children)or four non related adults. Two vehicles per site. Visitors must leave campground at ten P.M. Checkout time is three P.M. daily. If you wish to stay later please contact park staff. No childrens electric cars or scooters. No golf carts. Quiet hours Ten P.M. until Seven A.M.
